52: Having it All is Only the Beginning

Those who want the fewest things are nearest to the gods. –Socrates

At this point in the program, you really do have it all. You have love, money, opportunities and time and your health should be intact as you didn’t have to stress yourself getting it all. What next? You are leagues ahead of most people, who devote the greater part of their lives acquiring even a portion of what they want. But in doing this program — especially in identifying your needs and getting them met, and in orienting your life around what you truly love to do — you’ve discovered that you don’t want all the stuff that you wanted in the beginning. In fact, by now you’ve learned that most of the stuff you thought you wanted wasn’t even that interesting and certainly wasn’t that fulfilling. This makes life a whole lot easier as you don’t have to waste precious time going after stuff you won’t want soon after you’ve acquired it.

When I promised you that you would attract everything you wanted, I wasn’t kidding. But now you don’t want it. Ha! Tricked you! Just kidding. The really neat thing about this is that you are no longer a slave to your desires. You are free to live your life the way you choose. And that was how it was supposed to be all along. Most of us just got sidetracked or hoodwinked into thinking we wanted to do something other than that.

The 53 weeks in this program are the key to success, and real success is living your life the way you want to. Congratulations! You have laid the foundation. Now the world is your oyster; you can do whatever your heart desires. What is the legacy you’d like to leave behind? How would you like to be remembered? What would you like to contribute? At this point you will be ready for the next level, the next challenge in life — that is how you stay in the flow and be fulfilled — that and enjoying thoroughly what you have created.

Homework:
1. Imagine you are at your deathbed, looking back on your life. What would you like to be remembered for? What would you like to have been known for? Think not just in terms of your accomplishments, but also in terms of who you are as a person. Do you want to be rememberd as generous, thoughtful, courageous? What is your special contribution to the world?

2. Jot your thoughts down in your journal and feel free to add to them this week as you come up with more ideas.

3. What changes would you need to make now to become that person? Write this in your journal and start making one change this week.

10 Minute Option:
Do Step 1 above and jot down as much as you can in your online journal.
