02: Describe One Ideal Day in Detail

The key to having an ideal life is to knowing exactly what such an ideal life would look and feel like. So take ten minutes to describe in detail One Perfect Day. Where would you wake up? In what sort of bed and with whom? What sort of environment is it? What is your ideal morning like? What do you eat? Wear? Do? What sort of work do you do? How do you spend your time? You may not want every day to look the same so feel free to create a number of possible ideal days that you could rotate.

Describe one ideal day in as much detail as possible from the moment you wake up in the morning until you fall blissfully asleep in the evening. Do not worry whether this looks anything like your current life.

Now, take one element of this ideal life and make it real this week. If you can live your entire ideal day, then go ahead and do that. One of my clients described a fabulous ideal day and then was amazed to discover that he could experience his ideal day any time he wished, he just had to make a few phone calls to set up a a golf outing with his buddies followed by lunch at the golf club, and then dinner and the theatre with his wife that evening. If you can’t quite manage one ideal day just yet, pick one or two elements that you can incorporate into your life now. One client realized her ideal morning was to have a cup of tea with a homemade blueberry muffin on her deck overlooking the woods while writing in her journal. She now does this every day and it has cost her nothing! I live close to a stunning beach, but wasn’t taking advantage of it until I buddied up with a friend to walk every day for an hour in the morning while my husband gets the kids ready for school. Ideal!

Homework: Start and end your day with the perfect morning and evening routine.

Ten Minute Option: Just write down that ideal day with lots of specific detail.

Enjoy!
