As you focus your attention on the things that feel good and achieve a consistently joyful state of being, you will then be in a position of attracting more of whatever you want. –Esther and Jerry Hicks, Money and the Law of Attraction
Often I hear people say, “I have a wonderful family, a nice home, a good car and a decent job, so how come I’m not happy?” I reply by asking, “What are you currently doing that makes you feel happy?” No matter how much nice stuff we have and no matter how much we love our families, if we aren’t regularly doing something that makes us feel happy, we won’t feel happy. It really is that simple. I know this is ridiculously obvious, but you’d be amazed at how often we expect to feel happiness, but aren’t doing anything that makes us feel happy. Bizarre, but true!
Homework:
Take a good look at your life and list your current activities. Which ones give you joy and pleasure and which ones don’t? If something used to give you joy, but now it doesn’t, it is time to re-evaluate and let go of that activity, project or volunteer work. Is there something you can stop doing now in order to do something more fun, fulfilling or joyful?
