Our Guarantee:
All of our life coaches are either:
- Master Certified Coaches or Professional Certified Coaches, which means they have passed a peer review and written and oral examination in addition to graduating from an accredited coach training program and logged over 800 hours coaching paying clients;
- Graduates from an International Coach Federation (ICF) accredited coach training program;
- In training at an ICF accredited coach training school.
You can search for the level of qualification you desire. [For more information about the differences in qualifications, please click on the Find a Coach button.] There are loads of coach training schools out there. Unfortunately, most of them do not meet the rigorous industry training standards set by the ICF. Most of the search engines out there for coaches (even the ICF’s Coach Referral Service I’m afraid to say), do not require their coaches to demonstrate any kind of credentials or even coach training whatsoever. This makes it hard for the public to find a properly trained and qualified life coach as any yokel can put up their listing, even at the ICF’s website. Not here.
Lifecoach.com only allows coaches who have real credentials or accredited coach training to be listed in our coaching directory.
Why am I doing this?
I’ve been coaching for nine years now and when I first started out, the fellow coaches I bumped into were truly extraordinary people who all eagerly sought professional coach training. They were thirsty and eager to get all the information, training and skills to fine-tune and develop their natural coaching abilities. Lately I’ve been bumping into a lot of people who are calling themselves life coaches and yet, they have had no coach training or simply attended a weekend coaching skills training and figured that was enough. In fact, just the other day I met a life coach and I asked her about her background and training and it turns out she was an astrologist now calling herself a life coach because that is the hot thing. Excuse me, but what is wrong with calling yourself an astrologist? I’ve also met therapists and consultants who are now calling themselves coaches even though they have no coach training whatsoever. This site is my attempt to sort the wheat from the chaff. It is my effort to protect the name of all the good coaches out there and to protect the public as well.
Does this mean that all the coaches on this site are right for you?
No, and that is why we recommend that you to try out a free half hour coaching session with a couple of the coaches you are interested in. All the Lifecoach.com coaches have agreed to offer this as part of this public service and they are equally committed to making sure you find just the right coach, given your personality and your goals. And, once you hire a coach, if, after the first month of coaching you can tell it isn’t clicking, you do not have to continue working with that coach. Tell the coach it isn’t working and come back and try another coach. I’m a Master Certified Coach and have successfully coached hundreds of very different clients, but every once and a while I find someone that I don’t mesh well with. It only takes one month to see this and I always refer them on to a coach who would be more appropriate for their personality. It doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you or your coach. It is just a case of different people needing different styles. I have had a number of clients who said they were locked into a six- month coaching agreement and couldn’t get out of it. They dreaded their coaching sessions. Not at Lifecoach.com. If you truly don’t feel you are getting results or if you aren’t looking forward to your coaching calls, then for heaven’s sakes, don’t suffer, get a different coach! If you have the right coach, you will enjoy the coaching process immensely!
What we are not:
Lifecoach.com does not offer coach training nor do we limit our search engine to a specific coach training school. All the coaches who have accredited coach training can be listed, whether their training was from CoachU, The Coach Training Institute or any of the other ICF Accredited Coach training programs. If you are interested in getting coach training, please find your accredited coach training options at
